What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us

Experience and Therapeutic Approach
My career started as a social worker in the Criminal Justice System. I also have experience working in the charity sector supporting single parents and people living with HIV.
In my private practice, both online and face-to-face, I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, bringing wide ranging issues.
My therapeutic approach blends multiple perspectives to enable me to really be alongside you, bringing curiosity to both the social determinants of your psychological distress, and understanding the impact of your personal history in forming the unique, learnt patterns of being you in the world. Patterns which feel so familiar, as if they are innately you, your personality, yet they are no more than a you in response to …
What serves you and conversely what serves only to restrict you?
Where do you have impact in your life?
At points of crisis in our lives we often depend on our earliest ‘scripts’ and patterns of being in the world, we fire fight; we try to control our external world; we withdraw and shut down; we over-give, over-endure, and absorb blame; we diminish ourself in the way we talk to ourself - not an exhaustive list but -none good ways of dealing with our distress, or of engaging in our life in ways which offer us choice or flexibility.
So often behind the initial distress which brings us to therapy sits a bigger enquiry. My approach will guide you to explore what has made you uniquely you. Where you might have become disconnected from yourself. How you allow for the uncertainty life inevitably brings, but still, each day, wake up, take a breath, and step into your life.

Next Steps:
Many of us have been hurt and bruised in the different relationships in our life. We may have lost our shape in the boxes society and culture have forced us into.
Finding a therapist, and making a commitment to a relational journey which is as yet unknown, can feel daunting. Yet leading a life in which we allow ourselves to know more of ourself, be more of ourself, requires our fierce commitment.
If you take this next step I will be alongside - we will swim in the same water - I will bring my expertise as a guide, asking the right questions, bringing tenderness where there has been judgment, looking from new angles and fundamentally allowing everything voice and a right to be.
